After photographing portraits professionally for 6 years, I’ve had many different requests from clients, asking for particular styled shoots. In the corporate headshot and personal branding realm, I’ve had three styles requested: Studio/Indoor, Outdoor/Natural, and the most recent: Lifestyle Portraits. All three are very powerful tools in strengthening your personal branding; it’s up to you to decide which type of portrait is going to best represent your brand to future clients and companies. In this digital age, more and more businesses are heavily relying on a strong online presence, and the business front you display online will either encourage or deter customers and businesses from visiting your site or contacting you, say via LinkedIn or your website.

Studio Portraits

These are the classic headshots people think of when needing a portrait done in a corporate setting. It’s classic, clean, and formal. These pictures can be scheduled at any time of the day, and during any type of weather. Before a session, I like to share with clients the best outfits to wear to ensure they are looking their very best. Oh! And don’t forget to bring your fur baby! That has to be one of my favorite ways for someone to put an extra personal touch in their session (not to mention I’m obsessed with dogs).

Outdoor Portraits

Outdoor headshots are a great way to choose your favorite park for a natural feel, or even a building downtown for a more modern look. When the lighting is just right, you can get a gorgeous golden glow around your head as a hair light. There is just something about natural light that creates a little extra mood and story-telling to a portrait.

Lifestyle Portraits

This style is quickly becoming one of my new favorite personal branding tools. When I suggest this style to new clients, they usually have not heard about it, since it is a fairly new style which is catching on quickly. This style is a wonderful way to show people where and how you do business in a very personal way. You can be in the comfort of your home, at your business location (indoors or out), or at public locations (with their permission) like this beautiful coffee shop, 18 Grams Coffee.

Whichever style you choose, professional corporate headshots are a must for any individual or company to stand out from the rest and look their very best, both online and in print.
